Reprocessing Guide

If you experience any one of the following failures, try step-by-step troubleshooting described below.

Identifying the Blockage

3-A.Manual cleaning

Clean inside of the chuck under running water for more than 15 seconds, using an interdental brush (wire thickness 0.7mm) that conforms to size 4 in ISO 16409.

After cleaning, under appropriate lighting (500 lx or higher), inspect the handpiece for contamination. If any visible contamination remains, repeat the process until it is visually clean.

3-B.Automated cleaning (washer-disinfector)

Wipe the surface of handpiece on a part where cotacts the handpiece holder using CaviWipes or a cloth moistened with CaviCide or ethanol with a concentration of 60-90%.

Washer-disinfector will clean and disinfect the internal and the surface of the handpiece.

After cleaning, under appropriate lighting (500 lx or higher), inspect the handpiece for contamination.

4-A.Lubrication (PANA SPRAY Plus)

Attach the Tip Nozzle into PANA SPRAY Plus.

Shake the PANA SPRAY Plus well for several times.

Attach the Spray Nozzle applicable for the handpiece to PANA SPRAY Plus.
*M4/B2 Air Turbine can use the Tip Nozzle.

Shake the PANA SPRAY Plus well for several times.

Attach the handpiece to the spray nozzle.

4-B.Lubrication (iCare)

Attach the handpiece to the applicable adapter or connector.
iCare will lubricate the internal of the handpiece.

5.Sterilization

*Follow local rules, regulations, and guidelines regarding the reprocessing of devices.
*Sterilization conditions refer to the operation manual of the handpiece.

Insert the handpiece individually into a FDA cleared pouch that conforms to ISO 11607-1, and seal the pouch.

6.Storage

7.Check before a treatment

Open the sterilization pouch and take out the handpiece before use.

Connect the handpiece to the coupling or motor.

Confirm that the head cap is not loose and sufficient cooling water comes out from the handpiece.

Then, attach the bur to the handpiece.
Confirm that the bur does not come out.

Run the handpiece at the allowable maximum rotation speed with cooling water for 1 minute at the chair side.
Confirm that no abnormal bur wobble, vibration and noise.

After handpiece has stopped, make sure the head of the handpiece did not heat up.
